Welcome to Kotor Bay, a true gem on the Adriatic coast, a place where the crystal clear waters meet the rugged mountain terrain, creating a landscape that will take your breath away. I am Captain Ivan, a lifelong passionate fisherman and a local enthusiast of the Kotor Bay area.

The only local ferry in Montenegro is at the Bay of Kotor, in the Verige strait, between the villages of Kamenari and Lepetane. This ferry will save you about 30km (via Kotor, Perast, and Risan) if you drive from Budva to Herceg Novi or vice versa. Otherwise, the journey by road takes about 40-45 minutes.

Going to Kotor by boat is one of the most popular ways of visiting the city as many cruise ships with itineraries along the Adriatic Sea include a stop in Kotor. The most popular route is the one that comes from Dubrovnik, in Croatia, and then makes a stop in Kotor Montenegro.

Returning To Kotor. After we had explored and experienced the beautiful town of Perast, it was time to get back on the boat. The ride back to Kotor is equally as good as the trip on the way out and gave us the opportunity to see some of the sights we didn't see previously. It takes around 30-40 minutes to get back to Kotor.

You can do a boat tour from Kotor in as little as 2 hours, or you can spend all day on a leisurely cruise. I highly recommend taking one that visits Our Lady of the Rocks. The Blue Cave is great if you plan to swim or love natural wonders. If you're more interested in history and museums, visiting Perast would be a better choice.
